The most valuable call in logistics is the one nobody asked for: telling somebody their delivery is running late and offering to move it. It removes the inbound complaint, it prevents the wasted second attempt, and it lands as service rather than an apology. Almost nobody does it, because at any real volume a human cannot, and that is precisely the kind of work an agent exists for.

Why voice for drivers rather than an app?+

Because the alternative is a driver typing while moving, which is unsafe, or updating everything hours later, which makes the data useless. Voice is the only interface that works with hands on a wheel. A driver can report a delay, confirm a dock, or flag an exception in one sentence at a set of lights, and it lands in your system immediately.

What can a driver check-in capture?+

The load reference, arrival and departure times, the dock or bay assigned, an updated ETA, and any exception such as a blocked gate or a refused delivery. It can also prompt for proof of delivery. Those are exactly the fields a check-in exists to collect, and each one is spoken rather than typed.

Can it handle the recipient side too?+

Yes, and that is usually the bigger call volume. Rescheduling requests are commonly reported to make up something like a fifth to a quarter of inbound logistics calls, and the traditional experience is several minutes on hold to change a date. An agent answers immediately, checks what your system will allow, and books the new window.

What about failed deliveries?+

That queue is where coordinators drown at peak. The agent can work through it outbound, calling recipients to confirm the address, capture new instructions, or agree another attempt, then write the result to the delivery attempt log. Every one of those saved is a redelivery you did not pay for.

Can it call people before they call us?+

Yes, and it is the highest-value call in the whole set. Ringing to say a shipment is running ninety minutes late and offering to move it turns a complaint into a save. Doing it proactively also removes the inbound call that delay would otherwise have generated.

How does it get the ETA and the load details?+

From you. The agent calls your API mid-conversation, so the times it quotes come from your routing and your schedule rather than from a model guessing. Anything that has to be exact is supplied by your system and spoken back, never improvised.

Do drivers and customers get separate numbers?+

They can. Provision a number per purpose or per customer over the API and attach each to the right agent template, so a driver line and a recipient line behave differently while you maintain one configuration per role.

What does it cost at delivery volumes?+

A flat $0.08 per minute of voice. A driver check-in is well under a minute and a reschedule is a couple, so the cost per interaction sits far below the price of a single redelivery, which is the number this actually competes with.
